The Challenge 2 Help is an attempt to challenge myself physically while raising money for charities.
In September 2007, I raced four triathlons in four weeks. The races were four different distances including a sprint (short distance) and an ultra (Ironman distance). I decided to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation because we know people battling Type 1 diabetes and cancer.
The 2007 C2H was a success as I completed all 4 races and raised over $3,200.
In 2009, my goals are modest. I will race the SavageMan Triathlon for the 3rd straight year – the world’s most savage triathlon – and join the fight against cancer by raising funds for the Joanna M. Nicolay Melanoma Foundation.
I hope that you can join me in the “Challenge 2 Help.”

Russ,
I’d like to link to your site since we circulate in some of the same circles. I have a site called http://chicksonbikes.wordpress.com and while it isn’t only about bikes, it touches on triathlon, the local tri community and the like. I’m also involved with the Gen Smallwood race as well as Savageman. I’m part of the DC Triathlon community [highly respectful of Mid-MD]. So a reciprocal link would be great but not expected.
Good luck at Columbia (tough course, but a lot of fun) in your challenge in September and happy training!
Cheers,
Cory (aka, corrabell)
